Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig, September 21 in 1983. She is an American Actress best known as Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV show Lost. Originating from Worthington Ohio, she left high school to move to Los Angeles with her mother when her parents separated. They were struggling to get by and was offered her first part in the acting world as Rachel's Room's lead character. The film for television Murder in Greenwich that she appeared in, where she played 15-years-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination of a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford played the lead actress in Lost for its first two seasons. In 2004, she won the Screen Actors Guild Award with all of the ensemble. Grace decided to concentrate on film after starring opposite Tom Welling's character in The Fog, in 2005. She starred as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken the year 2008) on Suburban Girl and the Jane Austen Book Club. She played the same role on Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both 2012). Grace returned to her role as Shannon in Lost, including the finale. In 2013, she appeared in Season 6 of Californication. She plays Faith she is the muse and fan of the actors. She belongs to the Gyllenhaal clan as well as the sister to Jake Gyllenhaal. As a teenager her career began in small roles for her father and appeared in Donnie Darko along with her sister. Then she appeared on the screen in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performances as the lead in the erotic romance comedy Secretary (2002) and the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) both of which brought her a Golden Globe Award nomination. Her fame grew after playing Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) as well as a number of successful commercials she appeared in in the year 2006. As an unmarried mom in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. In the following years, she appeared in comedy and dramas Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Won't Back Down (2012). In addition, she was the role of a Secret Service Agent in White House Down the action thriller from 2013, as well as a singer as Frank (2014), a musician Frank (2014) as well as her role as the main character for the lead role in The Kindergarten Teacher, a drama released in the year 2018. Gyllenhaal's first film as a filmmaker and writer was in 2021 with The Lost Daughter, a psychological drama for which she received the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. The film also won an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
